Update on the Dupilumab Drug for Eczema.

New Eczema Drug Dupilumab Could be Available in the Future for Adult and Child Eczema.

This is not the first time we’re hearing about Dupilumab. As part of our roundup article, 2015: TOP BREAKTHROUGHS IN ECZEMA RESEARCH, we learned about the drug in an article posted in January of last year. Now the important follow up is arriving.

Pharmaceutical companies Regeneron and Sanofi have been developing the experimental eczema drug for some time now. As of April 1st, 2016, this eczema drug has met all of the major eczema treatment targets in two significant studies among adults. The drug has proven effective against eczema rash and itching. The drug also proved effective in seriously clearing eczema rashes and infection in 36%-38% of patients and helped to improve more than 69% of those treated for eczema. A separate study in treating child eczema is also in progress.

Now, these drug companies will be seeking FDA approval. We will make sure to keep you updated on this eczema breakthrough.
