Soothing Severe Eczema - A Mother's Journey to Treat Eczema without Steroids

An Interview with Katie Falkner on Managing Her Child's Eczema Since Birth Without Steroids

Please tell us what age your child developed eczema and the symptoms?

Our son has had atopic dermatitis since birth. The eczema started as "baby acne" and has continued getting worse. He is cover head to toe. He itches so bad he bleeds all over. We have tried just about every natural and prescribed medication you can think of. I have done test runs of lotions. He has extra breakouts from certain foods so he has to stay away from dairy, egg, tree nuts and peanuts. He is also allergic to dogs so our family pet has a new home.

Please discuss your experience with your child’s doctor and other physicians and who was most helpful in treating your child's eczema?

We have taken our son to 4 different pediatricians, 2 dermatologists, an allergist, a nutritionist, a chiropractor, a homeopathic doctor and a naturalpath. Not to mention 2 ER trips and a two night hospital visit. We have had some good outcomes with the allergist and the natural path in treating our child's eczema. But overall a lot of disappointments. The whole "no cure for eczema" can get very depressing to hear and all I want for our son is to heal. The AD RescueWear eczema wraps and eczema clothing have been the best thing to control his pain.

What is your process of controlling/treating your child’s eczema? Please explain what did and did not work.

Our son, Miles, had a horrible reaction to most medications including steroids. I have heard some success stories from using them, however, I never saw anything good. Miles loves showers not baths as much. I usually let him sit in there with one of us and then load him up with an ointment (we currently are using tri derma eczema ointment) and then cover that with a lotion. We then use our Rescue Eczema Suit as a wet wrap and put light clothes on top for comfort. This seems to cool his skin down the best. Again, Miles is in his Rescue Eczema Suit ALL day. As soon as we take it off even just for a diaper change he starts to dig at his poor skin.

Was wet wrap therapy with the AD RescueWear eczema clothing effective in treating your child’s eczema?

YES! These help more than anything!

Did you have a positive or negative experience with AD RescueWear eczema clothing and eczema wraps to treat your toddler's eczema?

We have had a very positive experience with AD RescueWear. Our 11 month old son wears the suits 24/7. Only way for him to calm his itch.

What future products would you like to see at AD RescueWear?

I would love to see some more eczema clothes. Seeing how our son wears them 24/7 some comfortable onsies and pants (still having closed feet and hands) would be great!

How did you hear about AD RescueWear?

I heard about AD RescueWear from an ad online.
