New Cream Could Combat Wrinkles… and Eczema
Could a new “Second Skin” cosmetic product be the answer to eczema?
In the process of creating a new cosmetic cream designed to fight the signs of aging like wrinkles and sagging skin, researchers may also have discovered a remedy for eczema.
The product is a cream that you rub into the skin and as it dries, it forms an invisible “skin” that helps to lock in moisture and alleviate dryness. The “second skin” gives the elasticity to the actual skin and though it’s first intention is to help reduce sagging skin and wrinkles with a more youthful appearance; the innovation holds promise for eczema and psoriasis. Researchers hope to add eczema medications to this cream that would allow eczema treatment to be more effective and less messy.
This outer layer will form a barrier that will protect skin from irritants. The cream would also be infused with eczema medications and emollients.
The technology has achieved its goal of transparency and flexibility to restore a youthful elasticity to the skin, and now the development will continue. We’ll continue to watch this product for further development as it pertains to eczema treatment.
